Have you ever seen a piece of art that stopped you in your tracks? That happened for me this week, and I’ve put it below for you:
Source of this excellent art: @justfrogetaboutit
Doesn’t that just hit you right in the solar plexus Test? We spend so much of our time berating our bodies…
“I’m too fat”
“I’m so unfit”
“I hate my nose / tummy / ankles”
“I hate getting older”
“Ageing is no fun”
And on and on and ON…
So much silent (and out loud) admonishment and diminishment
Of the one thing that carries us through life
The moving temple of our mind and soul
That allows us to connect and enjoy all the good times and experiences
And also carries us through every challenge we face
We say things to our body we would never say to another living soul
Just imagine saying those things to your grandchild, or your fur-baby.
Never in a million!
Let’s do better this Sunday:
This body has carried me through the dark, I owe it tenderness
Have a beautiful Sunday, thank you for reading – I hope this was just what you needed to hear today. Written from my heart (not AI) to yours.
