I have a super-fun list for you today. I saw someone else’s list of “10 lessons you don’t understand until your 50s” and I thought I would do you my version of it just for you today! I couldn’t make it 10, so you have….du-dahhhhhhh…
11 lessons you don’t understand until your 50s
- Peace matters more than anything, in all areas of life. Pursue Peace in all things, it is our best compass for a happy life.
- Peace and passivity are not the same. Sometimes the most peaceful choice is to Let It Go (Elsa was right), sometimes it is to Stand Up In Truth. But always pursue peace. It is always true north.
- Our health is our real wealth (physical AND mental). Invest, Invest. Invest.
- Time is our most important currency. Spend it wisely, it does not replenish.
- Behaviour is language. Not everyone deserves a second chance.
- Your circle gets smaller and better. Quality over quantity.
- Worrying is a mega-waste of emotional energy. Learning how to control this is the best mental health investment you can make (I teach this in my Academy).
- Happiness lives in the simplest things and moments if we pause to seek it.
- The only drama I want is in a boxset. Perpetual drama-magnet people are not for me, nor is gossip. I like my drama on a screen with an off button, thank you!
- Boundaries are about communicating the choices I will make, not controlling other people. They are an underrated peaceful super-power.
- Life is so much lighter when you stop rushing. Catch the moments. Do less. Connect more.
Those are my – ahem – ELEVEN. Tell me, which one of those life lessons resonates the most? Is there one you would add?
Have a great day
P.S. some beautiful words I recently received from Lynette, a wonderful Academy Member
