It's a hard one to overcome; guilt, self judgement but over time as you say, when we are kind to ourselves and let ourselves be the imperfect humans that we are, we can release the bulk of it (perhaps not all - not for me, not quite yet anyway). I have found that connection is the key - to myself, my children, family and friends. It has taken a long time to reach this place but I am thoroughly content. When we accept ourselves as 'enough' and embrace continued learning as a positive way of moving forward, we accept change more readily and see our 'mistakes' as lessons. Owning our mistakes is key too; my 7 year old son recently said to me after I apologised for an unnecessary grump I had had, "It's ok Mummy, none of us is perfect."
I love the Dalai Lama quote, we have it stencilled on our lounge wall.

So true. Made me stop and think when did I start to be judgemental about myself. I couldn't remember. That's how long. When I worked, I felt it wasn't a good enough job. When I quit, I felt guilty and envious of working friends. It goes on. Yea Louise, enough, seriously. Only when I stop to think I realise what an energy sucker it is. Thanks for reminding.
