About Louise

The short version:

I am a corporate escapee turned wellbeing pro. I help smart busy men and women get their zest for life back and rocking their lives in a way they only dreamt was possible. I add a good pinch of self -confidence, a sprinkling of tough love and a full on smattering of life coaching ninja smarts to inspire them to soar. It’s fun. It works better than you can imagine. And I love that I get to do this for a living.

I believe:

  • Life is short and beautiful
  • We need to make each day count
  • You can have the life you want
  • Outrageous energy is available to us all

In school we get taught WHAT to think, but no one teaches us HOW to think, and how that changes our entire life experience. Shortcuts to happiness and healthiness abound: why shouldn’t everyone be in on those secrets?

I finally feel my life has fallen into place. I have a life I love, and I love helping others realise their happiest life too.

The long version:

I’m English, and I have lived in beautiful New Zealand since 2004. I am now a kiwi citizen and I support the All Blacks (against anyone but England!)

I have a BSc. Honours degree in Psychology which is a fantastic complement to my Life Coaching certification. I have always been fascinated with what makes us who we are. I am also trained in Myers Briggs Personality Typing… I am an ENFJ, I love using this tool with clients to connect them to their true strength and live an authentic passionate life.

I am proud to be the first Certified Martha Beck Coach in New Zealand. This was an extensive 9 month training programme, one of the most rewarding things I have ever undertaken. Martha is the finest life coach on the planet. Fact!

I worked in numerous senior commercial roles in the newspaper and magazine industry for 17 looooooooong years, both here (New Zealand Herald, NZ Woman’s Weekly, amongst others) as well as in the UK (The Financial Times Group). I managed budgets over $30M and staffing over 100 people. So I know (more than I ever wanted to know!) about the challenges of corporate life. I was pretty good at it, won national awards and all that sort of thing. Good times.

I managed to work myself into extreme Adrenal Burnout. One day in 2009 I collapsed at my desk and I never went back. My recovery is the topic of my book “The Busy Woman’s Guide to High Energy Happiness”. I learned a lot of things about having energy, setting boundaries and prioritising happiness the hard way so you don’t have to!

I started practicing yoga in 2001 in London, in a fantastic beginners course with an amazing, inspirational teacher called Simona. That course changed my life! I realised then that I wanted to teach yoga so others could experience the incredible benefits in mind, body and soul. I trained to be a yoga teacher in 2005 with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre: an incredible global organisation. I set up my company Positive Balance teaching Yoga in 2005 and have taught thousands of lovely local students in our beautiful Auckland studio.

“Only 2-3% of the world are ENFJ’s. ENFJs are naturally people-focused individuals. They live in the world of people possibilities. More so than any other type, they have excellent people skills. They understand and care about people, and have a special talent for bringing out the best in others..

ENFJ’s main interest in life is giving love, support, and a good time to other people. They are focused on understanding, supporting, and encouraging others. They make things happen for people, and get their best personal satisfaction from this”

I bake an absolutely stellar gluten free Chocolate and
